Award winning experience
After completing a diploma in Horticulture, I studied Garden Design at the highly regarded Inchbald School of Design in London, where I was awarded the course director’s prize for my year. I then worked with international award-winning garden and landscape designer Christopher Bradley-Hole, before setting up on my own. I have planted two gold medal winning gardens at the Chelsea Flower Show, one for Andy Sturgeon, and the other for Philip Nixon & Marcus Barnett, and I achieved a bronze medal for my first Show Garden design at Chelsea in 2007. I am now seeking sponsorship for a large Show Garden in 2009.
Quality solutions
I pride myself on creating gardens designed to suit my clients and their homes. I use clean, simple lines to create elegant spaces that are comfortable to be in, and beautiful to look at, but with a twist such as architectural or unusual planting. I draw heavily on the environment around me for inspiration, be it the countryside or buildings in an urban environment. Natural materials, such as stone and wood, feature extensively in my designs which are constructed by skilled and often award-winning landscapers.
Business Background
My business background gives me the ability to discuss and understand my clients’ requirements and priorities. Formally a project manager in the City, I now use my computer skills to draw my designs in 3D using CAD software. This allows my clients to imagine walking through their new garden and to fully appreciate how the design will look after construction and planting.
My clients tend to be busy people who would rather delegate the whole garden project to someone else to deal with. I provide a full service for my clients from producing the garden and planting design through all the necessary construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation, to full project management of the build.
I also teach garden design students at the University of Greenwich and Hadlow College.
